Rewarding Integrity – New Perspectives on Blowing the Whistle

·  Participants will be able to articulate current views of whistleblowers, domestic and international.

·  Participants will be able to identify four different government whistleblower programs operating within the United States.

·  Participants will be able to distinguish whistleblower programs from those that only offer recourse for acts of retaliation to those that offer financial rewards.

·  Participants will become familiar with the term “qui tam” and be able to contrast qui tam programs from those that do not offer whistleblower bounties.

·  Participants will share and clarify perceptions of whistleblowers, “relators”, and confidential informants.

·  Participants will identify ethical dilemmas faced by certified fraud examiners when presented with a whistleblower complaint.

·  Participants will be able to articulate relevant aspects of the ACFE Code of Conduct as they apply to situations presented by whistleblowers in dealings with CFEs.

·  Participants will be able to match factual patterns of various real life whistleblower complaints with an appropriate government whistleblower program.
